Illinois horse slaughter bill re-introduced

Legislation has recently been re-introduced in the Illinois General Assembly that would ban the slaughter of horses in Illinois for human consumption.

HB 1171 is currently in the Judiciary I committee where we expect to go to hearing within the next couple of weeks.

We need you to please, contact all committee members and ask them to vote in favor of this bill. The contact numbers for committee members are listed below.

We also need Illinois residents to contact your own individual district State Representatives and ask them to vote in favor of the bill and to co-sponsor it as well.
