ANEGADA RALLIES FOR FLAWLESSLY STAKES VICTORY

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (September 11, 2005) -- Kenowa Stable LLC's Anegada rallied from last to first in the final quarter mile to post a neck victory over pacesetter Unbridled Echo in the $41,750 Flawlessly Stakes on Sunday at Arlington Park. Brice Blanc rode the Tony Reinstedler-trained daughter of Arch who covered the mile and a sixteenth over firm turf in 1:42.20.

"Everything went pretty well until the half-mile pole, when I got a little worried," said Blanc. "She didn't really get into gear like she usually would at the half-mile pole. She looked like she wasn't traveling well but she's got a hell of a turn of foot and lot of heart. That's what got her into the winner's circle today."

The Flawlessly was the third straight victory over the course for the 4-year-old filly who improved her overall record to five wins, two seconds and three thirds from 16 starts. She earned $25,050 today to boost her bankroll to $139,300.

Unbridled Echo made the pace in the race, setting fractions of 23.90 seconds, 47.75 seconds, 1:11.53 and 1:35.99 before being overtaken a few strides before the wire, finishing a neck ahead of Lenatareese.

Erhu, Voz De Colegiala, Humorous Miss, and Sunset Kisses completed the order of finish.

Anegada paid $9.80, $4.20 and $3.60. Unbridled Echo returned $4.60 and $3.20. Lentareese paid $5.40.
