'INDY' GROOVES TO MARIAH'S STORM VICTORY

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (August 12, 2005) -- Glen Hills Farm's Indy Groove sat just off the pace of Ghostly Gate, overtook that rival at mid stretch and drew off to win the $47,100 Mariah's Storm Stakes on Friday at Arlington Park. Mark Guidry rode the Tom Proctor-trained daughter of A. P. Indy who covered the mile and an eighth over a fast track in 1:49.68.

"She ran like her old self," said Guidry. "She broke alertly and had me in the race the whole way. I just bided my time. Turning for home, she just spurted off like she always does. She runs hard."

The Mariah's Storm was the first win in four starts this year for the 5-year-old mare who improved her overall record to five wins from 17 starts and the $28,260 earned here boosted her bankroll to $276,575.

For Gillian rallied to take the second spot, 2 lengths clear of Catboat, who finished third in the seven-horse field. Sunset Kisses, Ghostly Gate, Strike Me Lucky and Two Hearts completed the order of finish.

Sent off as the 8-5 favorite, Indy Groove paid $5.20, $3 and $2.40. For Gillian returned $3.40 and $2.40. Catboat paid $4.
