ARLINGTON PARK ANNOUNCES NEW 50-CENT TRIFECTA WAGER
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (June 29, 2005) -- Arlington Park announced Wednesday that it will offer a new 50-cent Trifecta wager beginning Friday, July 1.
"With the great response that we have seen from our 10-cent Superfecta wager so far this year, we thought that a 50-cent Trifecta would also be well received by our fans," said Arlington Park President Cliff Goodrich in making the announcement. "The lower minimum makes it less expensive for newer players to experiment with Trifecta wagers and will also allow more experienced bettors to utilize more horses for a more reasonable price in their trifecta boxes and wheels."
According to current Illinois Racing Board rules, Arlington Park will offer Trifecta wagering on all races with at least six betting interests in races with no entries or one entry at the start of the race, and with at least eight betting interests in races with two entries at the start of the race.
Arlington Park -- the Chicago area's premier Thoroughbred racetrack located in Arlington Heights, Ill. -- is running a 94-day meet in 2005 from Friday, May 13 through Sunday, Sept. 18. Arlington Park, whose parent company is Churchill Downs Incorporated (Nasdaq: CHDN), also operates eight off-track, simulcast-wagering facilities: Trackside Arlington Park (Arlington Heights), Trackside Quad City Downs (East Moline), Trackside Chicago, Trackside McHenry, Trackside Rockford, Trackside South Beloit, Trackside Waukegan and Lucky's featuring Trackside OTB in South Elgin.
