MILLER LITE PARTY IN THE PARK RETURNS FOR 2005 SEASON
Band Schedule Announced For Popular Friday Promotion
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (April 26, 2005) -- Once again this summer, Arlington Park will be "the place to be" to kick off your weekends with the Miller Lite Party in the Park on Friday afternoons from May 13 through September 16.
"Live music from top local bands, the excitement of live Thoroughbred racing and Miller Lite specials combine to make this the best way to get an early start on the weekend," said Arlington Park Senior Director of Marketing and Sales Keith Darby in announcing the 2005 band lineup. "Plus, if you join Club Miller Lite and come back often enough, you can win a 2006 Arlington Park season pass, baseball tickets and all new Miller Lite merchandise with an increase in the number of rewards for frequent visitors."
In addition to the new Miller Lite merchandise, on selected Fridays, random drawings will be held in the Park to win White Sox, Bears and NASCAR tickets, plus merchandise including Weber Grills and a Washburn electric guitar. The Opening Day drawing on Friday, May 13, will be for four Sky Suite tickets for a Cubs-White Sox game at U.S. Cellular Field.
The popular promotion kicks off the 2005 meet starting on Friday, May 13 with live music by Voices and a live remote from WCKG-FM afternoon drive personality Steve Dahl. Post time on Fridays is 3 p.m. from May through August, and 2:30 p.m. during September.
The appearance by Dahl, which is the only live remote not open to the public, is just one of many scheduled appearances by radio personalities at the Miller Lite Party in the Park.
On June 10, The Loop (WLUP-FM) morning man John "Byrd" Kempf will be on hand at Arlington for the Miller Lite Party in the Park to meet and greet fans and giveaway prizes. Cover Gurl, winner of last year's Battle of the Bands at Arlington, returns as the featured band that afternoon.
On July 15, morning personality Lin Brehmer will host WXRT's Fifth Annual Day at Arlington Park with live music by The Only Sons.
On August 5, WJMK-FM's Fred Winston will broadcast his afternoon show from Arlington Park for a Tribute to the Beatles featuring award-winning Beatles tribute band British Export.
Sports enthusiasts will want to be on hand on Friday, June 17 when the SCORE's Rick Telander will broadcast his afternoon show live from Arlington. Later in the season on August 12, the day before Arlington Million XXIII, join ESPN 1000's "Mac, Jurko and Harry" for a live remote from the track.
On May 27, racing fans are invited to join Arlington Park bugler Bonny Brown and her Caribbean band rhumbuzzz for a great start to the Memorial Day weekend.
A perfect way to kick off the weekend, the Miller Lite Party in the Park is Arlington Park's most rockin' promotion with live music and beer specials every week. Fans can join Club Miller Lite, a free attendance-based rewards program that can earn fans a season's pass for 2006 and other great prizes.
