ARLINGTON TOPS NATION IN FATHER'S DAY ATTENDANCE FOR FOURTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (June 20, 2004) -- For the fourth straight year, Arlington Park had the highest attendance, 28,223, at any racetrack in the country on Father's Day. This is the third largest attendance on a non-Breeders' Cup Day since the track re-opened in 2000 behind Mother's Day in 2000 (35,273) and last year's Arlington Million (28,614).

By comparison, Monmouth Park in New Jersey was second in attendance on Father's Day with 23,896.

"We're proud to lead the nation's racetracks in Father's Day attendance for the fourth consecutive year," said Arlington Park President Cliff Goodrich. "Everything came together perfectly for the whole weekend. Beautiful weather, great promotions and competitive racing made Arlington Park one of the best places for families to spend the holiday together."

On-track handle on the nine-race card was $1,231,002 while $3,522,309 was wagered on Arlington's live races from all sources.

Arlington Park, the Chicago area's premier Thoroughbred racetrack located in Arlington Heights, Ill., is running a 96-day meet in 2004 from Friday, May 14 through Sunday, Sept. 19. Arlington Park, whose parent company is Churchill Downs Incorporated (Nasdaq: CHDN), also operates eight off-track, simulcast-wagering facilities - Trackside Arlington Park (Arlington Heights), Trackside Quad City Downs (East Moline), Trackside Chicago, Trackside McHenry, Trackside Rockford, Trackside South Beloit, Trackside Waukegan and Longshots featuring Trackside OTB in South Elgin.
