| Hawthorne Racecourse release Contact: Jim Miller (708) 780-3700 Santos Breaks Wrist Following Stakes Victory STICKNEY, IL - Following his victory aboard Kalu in the running of the Grade 3 Hawthorne Derby, jockey Jose Santos was tossed from the horse and injured. When asked for comment following the race, Santos stated, "I can't tell you anything right now. I think my hand is broken, I'm in a lot of pain." Santos' was taken to Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois where he was diagnosed with a broken right wrist. He planned to return to New York on Saturday night. ### |
