For the second straight day, the course record for the About One and One Eighth Miles Turf, was lowered. This time it was Birthday Gift who crossed the wire first, stopping the clock in 1:49.20, carrying Hall Of Fame (it feels incredibly great to finally write that) rider Earlie Fires in the irons. This beat the new course record of 1:49.24 set YESTERDAY by Holy Conflict.

$100,000 Guaranteed Pick 6

With an audible sigh of relief it was announced that the Guaranteed $100,000 Pick 6 was NOT hit for the first time at the meet. You can change that tomorrow. Bet with both hands.

Hawthorne Derby Update

Moontaz, Volponi, and Kalu as well as likely favorite Proud Man are considered probable for the Grade 3 Hawthorne Derby to be run next Saturday, May 12.
