| Hawthorne Racecourse Daily Notes Contact: Jim Miller (708) 780-3700 VETERINARIAN INJURED State Veterinarian Dr. Steve Seabaugh was injured prior to Thursday's fifth race when he was kicked in the upper left leg as horses were loading into the starting gate. Though he suffered lacerations above the knee, X-rays came back negative. HANDICAPPING FINALS The finals for Hawthorne's December Handicapping Contest will be held on Saturday. Finalists are requested to register by 12:30 p.m. on the third-floor grandstand. TRAINER RACE UPDATE With 10 days of racing left, Tom Tomillo maintains a five-victory lead over Ron Goodridge. Neither trainer scored on Thursday. CAMPBELL SCORES TWICE Jockey Jesse Campbell won two Thursday. He took the first with Let's Make Life ($9.40) and the third with Strong Patrick ($7.80). CADMAN WITH A TWO-BAGGER Jockey Zoe Cadman took two Thursday. Soul Onarazorsedge ( $17.60) took the sixth while Blue's New Image ($6.40) won the seventh. SMITH WITH TWO Trainer Jere R. Smith Sr. won twice Thursday. His Springs Eternal ($4.40) won the second and Sneek A Flight ($4.80) grabbed the ninth. ### |
