Cat and runner up Come September who has been installed as the 6-5 morning line favorite for this year's edition. LAVIOLETTE WITH TWO Leading jockey Shane Laviolette had a riding double on Wednesday's card. He took the fourth with Gee Don't You Wish ($16.40) and the seventh with Royal Ballerina ($27.20). JUAREZ STAYS HOT Jockey Alfredo Juarez Jr. also won two on Wednesday. He won the first aboard Penny Pit ($15.60) and waited until the nitecap to win with Sneek A Flight ($8.40). DECEMBER HANDICAPPING CONTEST BEGINS The first qualifier for Hawthorne's December handicapping contest takes place on Saturday. It takes at least two winners to qualify. Weekly prizes include color televisions, Hawthorne Trainer Profiles by M. Scott McMannis, and subscriptions to Horseplayer Magazine. Finals take place December 22. ### |
