Big Day For Emigh

Jockey Chris Emigh had an outstanding day Wednesday. He scored in the second race with Go Went Gone ($11.20); came back in the fifth with Holy Kitten ($5.00); and took the late Daily Double with Fourth Floor ($11.60) in the eighth and Proud Mary Em ($14.60) in the ninth.

Laviolette Scores Twice

Leading jockey Shane Laviolette had a riding double Wednesday. He took the first with B. J.'s Powerhouse ($4.00) and the third with Weatheringthestorm ($13.40).

Tomillo Stays Hot

Trainer Tom Tomillo won with two on Wednesday and came within a neck of dead heating one of his winners with the other half of an entry. B. J.'s Powerhouse ($4.00) took the first. Lavaca ($6.20) took the seventh but Cobra Devil, the other half of the Tomillo entry didn't make things too easy. Cobra Devil did lead most of the way but Lavaca passed him late. However it was a duel down to the wire and they were almost six clear of the rest of the field and neither jockey, Jerry La Sala and Shane Laviolette, gave an inch. It was a great finish.
