ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (Oct. 28, 2001) -- Team Block's Ioya Two captured her third stakes race and fourth score of the Arlington Park meet when she rallied from just off the pace to win the $75,000 Estrapade Handicap by 2 lengths lengths Sunday at Arlington Park.

The Estrapade, the closing day feature race for fillies and mares at a mile and a sixteenth on the turf, honors the 1986 Arlington Million heroine who remains the only distaffer to win Arlington's signature race.

Under leading jockey Rene Douglas, Ioya Two sat third while racing along the rail, angled out in the stretch and drew off inside the final furlong. The Illinois-bred daughter of Lord At War covered the distance over "soft" turf in 1:46.62.

"The last two races she's been real nice to me," said Douglas of Ioya Two, who at times can be difficult to ride. "She's small but she has a heart like a bull and a good kick at the end."

"It's a wonderful way to close out (the meet)," added Block. "My only concern was with the long time between races (31 days) would she be able to go two turns. If she'd relax for Rene, I knew she could do it, and when she did, I was pretty confident. She loves this course."

Pacesetter Please Sign In, who set led through a mile in 1:40.10, held on for second. It was another three-quarters of a length back to Lady Angharad, who finished third, followed in order by Lady of Peace, Meadow Peace, Histoire Sainte and Golden Antigua.

Sent off as the 9-10 favorite, Ioya Two paid $3.80, $2.60 and $2.60. Please Sign In returned $6.20 and $4.40. Lady Angharad paid $4.20.
