APPRENTICE CADMAN BAGS FIRST CAREER TRIPLE
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. --- Apprentice jockey Zoe Cadman became the first female jockey in the history of Arlington International Racecourse to ride three winners on a single card when the 26-year-old native of South Africa accomplished the feat Saturday at the suburban Chicago oval.
Cadman scored consecutive victories aboard Perry James ($8.20) in the fourth race, Shesa Look N Good ($9.40) in the fifth and Nice N' Salty ($11.00) in the sixth. The three races covered one of Arlington's rolling Pick 3 wagers which returned $238.60. Her bid for a fourth straight victory on the program came up short when she finished second astride longshot Road Wiggle in the seventh race.
In her other mounts on the card, Cadman finished last aboard Radio Ranger in the second race, eighth in the third race with Wall Street Waltz, fourth after setting the pace on Tiger Six in the eighth and fifth in the ninth race astride Dancing Roy.
Cadman, who has been riding professionally for slightly more than three months, broke her maiden with her first career mount, Prize And Joy on June 10. She was sidelined for six weeks following a starting gate mishap on July 7 and returned to action on August 16.
Arlington's sole apprentice rider, Cadman has 22 wins from 123 mounts, placing her 17th in the jockey standings despite her shortened season.
