HORSES ARRIVE AT ARLINGTON MONDAY; TRAINING BEGINS TUESDAY

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (May 18, 2001) -- The horses return to Arlington Park Monday, May 21, when the track opens its barn area at 8:00 a.m. sharp. Several Kentucky-based outfits are expected to arrive on Monday, the first day the track's barn area is available for stabling.

Arlington can house 2,140 horses in its barn area including 164 horses in three new barns that have been constructed since the end of last season.

Training on Arlington's 1 1/8-mile main track will begin Tuesday morning at 5:30 a.m.

Arlington Park, the Chicago area's premier Thoroughbred racetrack located in Arlington Heights, Ill., will run its 102-day live racing meet from June 13 through October 28, 2001.
